Latinaotearoa releases second album “Latinaotearoa in Latinoamerica”

Latinaotearoa in Latinoamerica

Auckland-based trio Latinaotearoa has released the anticipated follow up to their debut album ‘Sonido de Latinaotearoa’ through Mucho Aroha Music. Conceptualised in Brazil and featuring another influential line up of guests, ‘Latinaotearoa in Latinoamerica’ will be available through iTunes on December 4.

WHAT: Latinaotearoa release second album Latinaotearoa in Latinoamerica

WHEN: iTunes release on December 5; vinyl release in February

WHERE: Album release tour – Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Napier & Melbourne

Guests including hip hop artist Raiza Biza, Julien Dyne (Open Souls), Riki Gooch (Trinity Roots) and perussionist extraordinaire Miguel Fuentes, contribute to a timeless collection of tracks that tip their hat to traditional Latin and Brazilian music. The album, born in Brazil, recorded at Red Bull Studios in Sao Paulo and Auckland and mastered by Kelly Hibbert in Costa Rica, crosses paths, cultures and genres – it is quintessentially Latinaotearoa.

The group’s trip to Brazil this year was more than just a tour. For Brazilian born Bobby Brazuka, Venezualan Jennifer Zea and Isaac Aesili, who is of Guyanese heritage, it was a pilgrimmage. They decided upon the approach for a new album, with Isaac and Bobby researching and composing new songs in the bustling metropolis of Sao Paulo. The seeds of the album had been sown.

Latinaotearoa in Latinoamerica comes from a spiritual re-awakening and a passionate sense of pride. Fans will be taken into a welcoming fiesta of bossa nova, samba, afro-samba, salsa and even flamenco inspired rhythms. With this second album comes an improved sense of synchronicity amongst the trio – realised by an understanding of where they’re from and a renewed focus for where they want to go. An essential addition for any lover of Latin music.

An album release tour will coincide with the iTunes release on December 5, 2014. After the Auckland date, Latinaotearoa will head south before crossing the Tasman with events in Sydney and Melbourne. Latinaotearoa in Latinomerica will be released on vinyl in the new year.

Mark de Clive Lowe releases tunes from his latest album Church on 7′ inch

MARK DE CLIVE-LOWE – “NOW OR NEVER” 7″ inch record.

Another stunning release from up and coming local label, Mucho Aroha Music.
This 7″ single from future jazz pioneer, Mark de Clive Lowe features two of his hottest tracks off his newly released album, Church.

“Now or Never” featuring Nia Andrews, was originally a live jam performed at his popular LA club night which has finally been given the studio treatment. Inspired by jazz percussionist Max Roach with a hypnotic baseline featuring flutters of flute and sax, this is a song that rolls the shoulders while taking the mind to better place. Talented songwriter Nia describes it
as “a love letter to her wildest dreams”.

“Brukstep” is a hat tip to Mark de Clive Lowe’s years spent in the heart of West London’s broken beat scene alongside artists such as 4Hero, Bugz in the Attic and Domu. This is a genuine UK two-step groove given a jazz makeover, complete with a work out on the grand piano accompanied by a guest trumpet solo courtesy of Duane Eubanks. The drum programming, sampling and effects were performed live in studio as the band performed, giving the electronic segments of the track a spontaneous and organic feel akin to the acoustic parts.

It’s the third vinyl release for Mucho Aroha, following Ladi 6’s Ikarus / Ready to Fly single and Latinaotearoa’s 7” featuring three songs off their self titled album.

This release from Mark de Clive-Lowe is their biggest yet, and a sure sign of things to come for the new label.

Ladi 6 “Ikarus” 7’inch vinyl out now in the whole Latin America.

After touring Brazil for the first time in the end of April 2014 Ladi 6 signed with Brazilian-kiwi label Mucho Aroha Music and has released two songs of her latest album Automatic in a 7″ inch vinyl in the South American country.
The side A is her hit , the modern beat “Ikarus” and the side B is “Ready to Fly” with guest singers Scribe, Tyra Hammond & Parks.
As Automatic has achieved international recognition, this 7″ wont dissapoint.

Ladi 6 & Latinaotearoa – Rio de Janeiro

In May 2014 Mucho Aroha Music was born as a musical bridge between Brazil & Aotearoa/New Zealand.
In order to celebrate this cultural exchange Ladi 6 crew and Latinaotearoa crew went on tour in the cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
